FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. WHAT DO I WEAR?
A. The following gear is meant as a guideline and not a steadfast rule:

Sunglasses:
By keeping the sun out of your eyes, a good pair of sunglasses can save you energy by allowing you to relax your face (no squinting). Though their uses are obvious on sunny summer days, they’re also useful on bright winter days, or any other time when glare is likely to be an issue.

Sports Bra:
For women, a sports bra is a “must-have” piece of equipment for running happy. If you are experiencing pain and swelling, you are most likely in the wrong bra.

Shorts:
The basic element of any runner’s wardrobe. Usually a nylon or technical fiber. Briefs or underwear are optional; some runners use them, some don’t. Just avoid cotton.

Running Shoes:
Choose a pair of running shoes with the cushioning and stability appropriate for your biomechanics. Or go barefoot (weather permitting, of course). If wearing shoes, a good pair of moisture-wicking running socks can help prevent blisters.

Participants of the Family Mile are encouraged to Make a Muscle by dressing up as their favorite muscular character. (ie. Superman, Ninja Turtle, Incredible Hulk)

Q. WHERE DO I GO TO CHECK IN?
A. Check in will be located in the East parking lot of the Bee County Courthouse.

Q. WHAT IF I MISS THE CHECK-IN TIME?
A. Participants will be required to check in 30 mins prior to their scheduled run. 5k participants who miss the check-in time will be invited to run in the Family Mile. However, due to safety precautions, 5k participants will not be allowed to begin the race after the start time. For all other participants, official decisions regarding participation after check in time will be made on a case by case basis.

Q. WHERE IS THE LOST AND FOUND?
A. All items should be turned in to the check in stations. Please contact us at Texas Southern Insurance, 361.358.4440 during regular business hours to pick up your items.

Q. WILL THERE BE A PLACE TO STORE PERSONAL ITEMS?
A. No.
All participants will be required to maintain their own items. Coastal Bend College, Muscle Up for Matthew, County of Bee, or any of its volunteers will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Q. CAN I MAKE A DONATION AFTER THE RACE IS OVER?
